DVCAM and DV recording

The DSR-250P allows you to record and playback in both DVCAM and DV (SP only) formats. Although DVCAM format is more reliable and durable than DV format for shooting and editing, DV format offers greater flexibility for distributing edited content. And, if you are ever caught without supplies of tape on hand, switching over to DV is a useful emergency measure because the DV(SP) format has longer recording time than DVCAM.

Superb image quality

The DSR-250P features a newly designed 12x zoom lens (digital zoom of 24x and 48x is available via the menu system). Horizontal resolution of 530 TV lines – plus the facility for manual zoom, focus and iris adjustments – ensures exceptional picture clarity and sharpness.

Unsteady pictures optically corrected

Sony Super SteadyShot™ is built in to the DSR-250P! This feature detects and compensates for both horizontal and vertical movements, so your picture remains completely steady.

Compatibility with most professional accessories

To optimise convenience and ease of use, the DSR-250P is designed to be fully compatible with many professional accessories.

• The DXF-801 high-resolution 1.5- inch viewfinder, which is found also in the Sony high-end DVCAM range, is supplied as standard.
  
• The video light connector enables you to connect external equipment (such as the Anton Bouer Ultralight2) and control light on/off automatically with the recording status.
  
• The XLR microphone connectors with phantom power for professional-quality microphones.
  
• Extend recording time to a maximum of nine hours with the BP-L90 Lithium-ion battery.
