Professional Disc is a single-sided, optical disc that uses state-of-the-art blue-violet laser technology to allow extremely large-capacity recordings of 23.3 GB. The speed has been increased up to 2.4x. It will also be the recording medium of choice for the new 2006 Sony HD XDCAM range.
