PRS-T1 screen freezes - is this common ?

I got my PRS-T1 in January so it's around 3 months old now and in general I'm pretty pleased with it. But in that time I've had two screen freezes: I'm reading as normal when the screen stops responding to finger swipes, then alternates between a blank screen and a circling arrow symbol. All I can do is reset it, which fixes it (although the first time that also deleted my DRM authorisation so I couldn't use it again until I got home to re-authorise it - grrrr !).

Question: is this normal, do other people suffer this kind of periodic annoyance - or is there a fault and I should get it fixed ? Being only 3 months old it's still under warranty.

All opinions gratefully received, thanks in advance !

Are you running the latest update/fixware ?
That should fix this.
In the meantime, try a soft reset - see manual. A paper clip will be needed .....
Can't remember off hand the number, but look on Sony Support - or someone more organised than me might know it ?

Thanks for the response. As far as I'm aware I have the latest software (1.0.04.12210), and R4PC doesn't tell me there's anything more recent when I plug in.
Not sure what you mean by "soft reset": do you mean "push in the reset button with the end of a paperclip" ? Yes, I've done that. As I said, I had to do it each time to recover from the fault. Is there some other sort of reset ?
My query really was whether anyone else had to reset theirs every month or so to recover from some kind of fault. If it's just me then it looks like mine is faulty, but if other folks are just putting up with it then maybe it's a design issue and I also have to accept it.

That is not normal. Check the event viewer and see which software or process is causing this.

Control Panel - Administrative tools - Computer Management - Event Viewer.

Thanks gugabackhand, but I'm afraid you've lost me. Where do I find an Event Viewer on the PRS-T1 ? There is no Control Panel, Admin tools etc listed in any menu I can find - are these hidden somewhere ? How do I find it from the Home button ?

If you mean the event viewer on my PC, I'm not sure how that's going to tell me anything about a screen freeze event on my Reader ?

Yes, a Hard reset - see manual, but make sure all content is backed up, as it will be lost through hard reset process.

Yes. I'm quite intruiged by the EventViewer - but I've just thought - is it a ref to the computer side of things (duh) ie control panel etc...
But it still baffles me after that - obviously a terminology confusion ?
I (hopefully) await enlightenment.
