Looking for help/advice.

I have a VPCSE2C5E with the built in Huawei EM680 (GOBI 3000) WWAN. When I insert my Vodafone UK SIM data card and try to connect via ONE-CLICK internet the SIM is not recocognised.

I have tested the SIM in an external USB modem stick on the same laptop and it works fine.

Interestingly (or not) when I first set the laptop up and started ONE-CLICK internet for the first time it saw the SIM but then (almost immediately) said INSERT SIM and then RADIO OFF.

SInce then (and I have taken the SIM out a number of times and re-inserted, re-booted) it just goes through the same cycle of:

INTIALIZING

INSERT SIM

RADIO OFF

I should point out that all radio connections are on and I don't have any problems connecting via WLAN or WWAN (via the external USB stick with the same SIM).

I have also tried the Vodafone Mobile Broadband software but I don't believe that supports the EM680 (according to their documentation).

Any ideas?

Tnx

The plastic cover should be kept pressed in order to turn the sim connection on ;-)

i still have not found a way to keep the cover pressed. Any suggestions?
